Project Managers

We have an exciting opportunity for dedicated hard, working Project Managers to join our Projects Team working for an expanding and successful ICP – EPC business.

The main purpose of this role is to project manage and deliver multiple wide-ranging projects on the distribution network up to and including 33kV within a Primary Substation environment.

You'll take on the role of key duty holders, which could include the Designer, Principal Contractor, depending on the nature of the project.

Responsible for teams of engineers, craftsmen, and sub-contractors, you'll ensure they have the skills, qualifications, tools, and materials to deliver effectively.

Salary £38,195 - £63,375 depending on experience with a commensurate benefits package.

Responsibilities

Actively promote a positive safety culture on your projects whilst ensuring all health safety and operational rules and procedures are adhered to by staff and contractors.

Manage the delivery of multiple projects with values up to £2M, safely and efficiently meeting allocated scopes, quality standards, timescales, and budgets. This will include high-level programming and in-depth financial forecasting.

Contractor management from tender and procurement stage through to execution and close out of projects.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, including estimate and design, specifically in the early stages of project lifecycles to ensure the project is deliverable

Assess and manage relationships with external stakeholders on your projects, and ensure that work is carried out to DNO/IDNO G81 requirements.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • To excel in this role, you'll have detailed knowledge of the design, construction, and operation of electrical plant and equipment on the Distribution Network.
  • To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: - Experience in managing projects within an ICP environment and working with and managing contractors & craftsmen.
  • The ability to deliver within tight timescales, the ability to effectively prioritise, plan and organise, and balance immediate and longer-term business priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient organisation skills and strength in developing and nourishing positive working relationships.
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and an HNC in an Electrical Engineering Discipline - SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH, or other suitable safety management certification
  • Full UK Driving License

The role will include the following:

  • Production of CAD drawings.
  • Specification of materials for cable jointing and network substation installations

We are currently looking to recruit a fully qualified time served, experienced electricians. The successful candidates will have a passion for learning new skills and the ability to pay particular attention to detail; good communication skills, timekeeping and excellent teamwork skills are essential in a High Voltage Utilities environment. HV experience would be advantageous.

You will be required to install HV & LV electrical equipment & control wiring; therefore, at least two years of electrical site experience and a full driving licence are essential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualities and attributes:

· Review pre-job briefs and asks questions to check to understand.

· Reads and understands Work orders/Instructions/Method Statements/Risk Assessments.

· Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work

· Selects the right tools & equipment for the job and checks that it is in good working order before and after use.

Experience

SHEQ Manager

Responsibilities

Manage the Company SHEQ systems and associated accreditations

Manage the internal audit programme and ensure continuous improvement actions are implemented, verified and closed out promptly.

Prepare and present Company monthly performance progress reports

Carry out Client feedback surveys and project reviews to focus on system improvement and streamlining.

Provide accurate SHEQ advice and support to operational staff, including advising on current CDM Regulations compliance and environmental issues.

Provide support and guidance to the operational teams and management on improving SHEQ performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.

Lead and support line managers with incident/accident investigations.

Provide feedback on identified SHEQ risks and advise on possible solutions and the development of cost-benefit corrective action plans.

Engage staff and contractors on SHEQ performance daily, support the delivery of SHEQ objectives and targets, and develop a strong SHEQ culture.

Undertake site inspection programme of SHEQ arrangements at depots & sites, including fire safety.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Experience with and understanding the utilities/construction industry is essential.

NEBOSH certificates are required in both Health & Safety and Environmental Management.

A CSCS card or EUSR registration is desirable

PC literate with a good knowledge of MS Office

Understanding of electrical work and experience with electrical procedures and processes, including the distribution safety rules, is desirable.

Must be able to demonstrate general knowledge and experience with various electrical system

Ability to conduct yourself with authority and confidence.

  • Have live mains jointing and new connections experience
  • NRSWA operative card,
  • CSCS card.
