Electrical Design Engineer - Crawley West Sussex & Aberdeen

The Role

You will be responsible for assisting in managing a small team. This is a critical role that requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and mentor less experienced members of the team.

As the Design Engineer, you will provide detailed and accurate plans to allow our teams to deliver clients' projects at the budget cost. The role holder will have excellent communication skills to work with all staff, suppliers, and customers.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will carry out all electrical design works which range from LV to 33kV, and associated protection and design studies required for ICP connections and customer private networks.

  • Computer literate – skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD, Trimble, Wndebut, and ETAP design packages.
  • Full UK driving license preferable.

The Role

This is a Critical role that requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members.

As the Electrical Estimator, you will provide detailed and accurate tenders to allow our teams to deliver clients' projects within budget. The role holder will have excellent communication skills to work with all staff, suppliers, and customers.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will handle tender preparation from enquiry acceptance to final submission, working to strict deadlines throughout. The company’s workload includes projects across all sectors on projects ranging up to £2M.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Liaise with clients where necessary and obtain specific information relevant to tender content and preparation.
  • Obtain the best prices for bought-out items and subcontracts against relevant specifications, criteria, and conditions, including Qualifying and analysing subcontractor proposals and quotations.
  • Make a preliminary assessment of overhead costs and prepare tender summaries for management agreements.
  • Preparation of detailed cost estimates by analysing plans and specifications along with all technical information and performing quantity takeoffs. Note that some tenders will require the Estimator’s design development input at the tender stage, i.e., developing the Outline client scope into fully detailed costs.
  • Develop outline project programmes and initial project risk register.
  • Utilising on-screen take-off and estimating software, appropriate training will be given to the successful candidate.

HV Electrical Technician - Aberdeen & Crawley West Sussex

The Role

To be a multi-skilled HV Technician, you must be able to carry out HV fitter and jointing tasks up to 33kV, either as an Authorised Person (AP) or working towards a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Project Engineer, you will carry out all electrical works, ranging from installation, routine maintenance, and repairs for our DNO and high-voltage customer networks.

  • To carry out HV cable jointing and terminations on 11kV and 33kV
  • Installation, refurbishment, and maintenance of LV/HV equipment.
  • Carrying out electrical testing and fault finding.
