Senior Electrical Estimator

MES Power Engineering are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Sales and Estimating Team.

The ideal candidate will use their industry experience and knowledge to provide detailed estimates for client projects, including cost estimates, worktime estimates and overall customer satisfaction. Maintains existing client contracts and continuously seeks out new clients and estimating opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts.
  • Ensure consistency across all project estimating and pricing, including making amendments, providing new cost estimates, and maintaining communication with the Client.
  • Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analysing and providing estimations; focus on maximising profit and customer satisfaction, while minimising any potential risks to the company.
  • Prepare detailed, well-written proposals for each Client, adhering to Client guidelines while offering competitive and comprehensive cost estimates, including supplementary documentation.
  • Maintain relationships with existing Clients keeping a sales-minded attitude and seek out and build relationships with new Clients.
  • Work with the Sales and Estimating Manager and Design Team to help development, innovation, and creativity on Client projects.
  • Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms.
  • Balance multiple proposals and estimations at once, ensuring each reaches the Client by the deadline.
  • Liaise with other company departments to maintain business development and continuously innovate new profitable outcomes.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in the industry, Electrical services such as LV/HV Distribution Networks, (DNO) experience would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a fast-moving dynamic Electrical Engineering company.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, with sales, customer service, self-management, and initiative.
  • Ability to manage workloads in a timely, self-motivating manner with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License, with the ability to visit client premises and sites.
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
  • Strong Commercial Awareness.

Project Managers

MES Power Engineering is looking for Project Managers to join our Project Delivery Team.

The Project Manager will have a strong Electrical and Project Management background with the supporting qualifications. The role itself will support the Operations Team and will report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • To effectively manage and deliver a portfolio of construction projects from design handover to construction completion, including all associated commissioning works.
  • Review project on design handover and ensure the project is ready for construction.
  • Ensure project delivery programme is prepared and maintained for each project, ensuring a logical and efficient approach is established, meeting the accepted timescales.
  • Determine labour and resource requirements and allocate projects to the project delivery team.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to exceed the client’s expectations, to agreed timescales and returning.


Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years working in the electrical industry installing/delivering LV/HV Projects including cabling, switchgear, transformers, and substations.
  • Be able to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Have knowledge of relevant and up to date, Electrical industry standards, processes and procedures.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance on construction sites (including CDM, HSE specific guidance)
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
  • Minimum of HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License, with the ability to visit client premises and sites.

Approved Electricians - Electricians

We are currently looking to recruit a fully qualified time served experienced electrician. The successful candidate will have a passion for learning new skills and the ability to pay particular attention to detail, good communication skills, along with timekeeping and excellent teamwork skills are essentials. Some HV experience would be advantageous.

You will be required to install electrical equipment at sites throughout the UK, therefore, at least 4 years of electrical site experience and a full driving licence are essential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualities and attributes:

· Review pre-job briefs and asks questions to check understanding.

· Reads and understands Work Order/Instructions/Method Statements/Risk Assessments.

· Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work

· Selects the right tools & equipment for the job and checks that it is in good working order before and after use.

· Communicate with the client to keep them informed of progress and resolve any site issues.

Experience

· Minimum of 4 years as a time served electrician

· Industrial/Commercial experience.

Qualifications

· Recognised Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification

· Current 18th Edition grading card.

· Testing and inspection

· Driving licence

· IPAF and PASMA qualification would be advantageous.

· Must be competent working alone and with others

· Customer care is a high priority as you will be dealing directly with clients

· Must be able to complete jobs on time and to a high standard

· Valid ECS/CSCS Card

· SJIB/JIB Card

· Liaising with project leaders to ensure timely ordering of materials and optimum efficiency.

· Liaising with external suppliers as required to ensure timely supply of materials.

· Maintain inspection records.

Site/Field Based on offer is the opportunity to join a company providing HV & LV power supplies across the country. We are looking for experienced Cable Jointers to join our team. The role is to be responsible for the installation of electrical connections, up to 33kV and to deliver a flexible and rapid response service to a variety of utility and private clients.

The role will include:

  • Working on development sites and the public highway
  • Understanding utility plans and setting yourself and others to work.
  • Undertaking cable jointing and network energisation activities

The person:

  • Experienced Cable Jointer role working in a construction/utilities role
  • DNO Authorisation current or just expired.
  • Have live mains jointing and new connections experience
  • NRSWA operative card,
  • CSCS card.

Individuals must have a full UK driving license and be willing to travel.
