Project Scope

The design, installation and commissioning of a balance of plant customer 33kV network to enable four 2.2MW Vestas turbines to export power from the New Rides wind farm site on the Isle of Sheppey Kent. This project included the customer 33kV multi-panel switchboard and the 1.8km of High Voltage (HV) network from the turbines to the purpose- built combined customer & UKPN network point of connection substation.

Our Solution

Design the customer’s balance of plant HV network. Provision P28, earthing, harmonics and reactive power compensation studies. Installed and commissioned the Customer Switchgear. Commissioning the protection including the generation G59 system. Install the HV cabling and fibre systems.

All cable jointing was carried out by MES Jointing teams. Install the substation auxiliary wiring and earthing system.
